Many other class notes for family history are linked on both sites
also.
- This class is to learn about information
and websites for family history training for LDS Church members .
KINDS OF HELPS AVAILABLE FOR FAMILY HISTORY TRAINING
- Notes, articles, checklists, screencasts (videos),
interactive lessons, PowerPoint presentations
- LDS Church has produced much training material, but
it is not well-known
- Many church members have also produced materials
geared towards FH in the LDS Church
- Many good FH materials on the Internet -- some websites are shown
below
FAMILY HISTORY INFORMATION FROM THE LDS CHURCH
- Church has produced and continutes to produce
good training materials for priesthood leaders, consultants, and members
- Some LDS FH websites require registration to be
able to see everything
- Some of these sites are limited to LDS
members with their membership number and confirmation date
and those are checked against the Church records
- Registrations for each of these is separate,
but you can use the same password and user name (if it's not already in
use there), if you want
- Sites requiring registration to see everything
- http://www.familysearch.org -- Everyone can see
most of this site
- Need to register to see temple data, to upload
GEDCOM's for PRF (Pedigree Resource File), and to ask questions via email
- Education tab on LIBRARY on has lots of good
FH information

sign up to help index digital records
- https://consultant.familysearch.org

- Suggested that members work on cleaning up their genealogy databases before New FamilySearch is released in
their temple district

ASSIGNMENT

consultants.
- Go to http://labs.familysearch.org/ and try some of
the new processes and databases shown.
- Read through a few of the memos sent out by FamilySearch Support to registered consultants. (See the
